This book is my legacy to the Stevenson lighthouses of Scotland and the Isle of Man.
Some require help to remain beacons after the light has gone out.
Since lighthouses have been automated, some are now private homes, while others, now function as holiday accommodation and hotels. Others are unfortunately falling into disrepair.
As someone who is keen both on lighthouses and tourism, I mixed these passions, along with a lifetime hobby of photography to bring you the pictures and the book.
Along with my own experience and helpful hint and tips of the journey of an amazing lighthouse visit or holiday.
Proud to say, I am the first person to start a crowd fund to purchase paint for any lighthouse in Scotland, this being Fair Isle South Lighthouse in 2016.
Following the Lights book has been self funded using my own photographs and text and created not for profit. Any sales of the book will enable the lighthouses to raise funds to maintain these beautiful structures for generations to come.
As well as the book, my lighthouse artefact collection will help promote the lighthouses and allow visitors to learn more about the history and art created about these buildings. Original oil and watercolour paintings ranging from late 1800s to modern day will be on display, as well as original lighthouse uniforms that will help bring the story to life.
Promoting, educating and keeping the lights alive for future generations to enjoy! Following The Lights.
