The lighthouse in the image above was constructed as a marketing stand No1084 in Kelvingrove Park Glasgow in 1888. Between May and November the international event attracted business and public from all around the world. Steven and Struthers Glasgow were engineers to the admiralty and constructed brass propellers for ships as well as many other items, closing in 1961.
For the exhibition Royal Doulton created a fountain that still exists in Glasgow today and is the largest of its type in the world.
