I recieved a message with some intersting information relating to the different names of lighthouses. Scurdie Ness lighthouse has had several name changes, since it was built around about 1870. First called MONTROSE NESS, then changed to SCURDY NESS, and finally changed to SCURDIE NESS. Having looked at some of my very early postcards posted to the former keepers families I can see that this is the case. Some of my postcards from the lighthouse keepers families will feature in my new exhibition and date from the late 1800 and early 1900s, including postcards that were sent to the first keeper stationed after the Flannen Isles Mystery. (Thank you to Harald for getting in contact).
